Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
This policy explains how Apex Tracking Group Ltd ("we", "us") handles your personal data when you use the Apex Tracking app and website. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
What we collect
- Account details — the email address and sign-in credentials you use to create and access your account.
- Vehicle location data — GPS position, ignition state, speed and related telemetry sent by the tracking device you install in your vehicle. This is the core of the service: it powers the live map, alerts, safe zones and trip history.
- Vehicle details — registration and vehicle information you add, including details retrieved via DVLA vehicle lookup.
- Device push tokens — an identifier for your phone so we can deliver push notifications, including critical anti-theft alerts.
- Subscription data — your plan and subscription status, processed through the App Store or Google Play and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never see or store your full payment card details.
- Order enquiries — when you submit the order form on our website or call our enquiry line: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle postcode, the package you're interested in, your vehicle's make, model, year and fuel type, and anything you add in the message field.
- Tracker orders — when you buy a tracker package through our online checkout or a payment link we send you: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered. Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe — we never see or store your full card details.
- Support correspondence — emails you send us.
What we use it for
- Providing live tracking, alerts, safe zones and trip history.
- Sending push notifications you have enabled, including critical anti-theft alerts.
- Managing your subscription and entitlements.
- Handling your order enquiry and fulfilling tracker orders — checking installation coverage and suitability for your vehicle, replying with payment details, taking payment through Stripe, and arranging delivery or installation.
- Responding to support requests.
- Keeping the service secure and preventing misuse.
We rely on the performance of our contract with you as the lawful basis for processing needed to run the service — including steps you ask us to take before a contract is formed, such as handling an order enquiry — and on our legitimate interests for security and service improvement. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Whose location is tracked
The service tracks vehicles, not phones. You must only use Apex Tracking on vehicles you own or have legal authority over, and you are responsible for informing anyone else who drives a tracked vehicle that tracking is in place.
Who we share data with
- Google Firebase — authentication, our backend database and push notification delivery.
- RevenueCat — subscription management linked to the App Store and Google Play.
- Apple and Google — payment processing for your subscription, under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Stripe — payment processing when you buy a tracker package through our online checkout or a payment link we send you. Stripe collects your card details, name, delivery address and phone number under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Resend — the email delivery provider we use to send order-enquiry notifications and service emails.
- RS Connect — our installation partner. For Apex Pro Install enquiries we share your vehicle details and postcode to confirm a professional installation is possible and, if you go ahead, your contact details to arrange the appointment.
These providers process data on our behalf and may store it outside the UK; where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data and vehicle history while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your personal data unless we're required to keep it for legal reasons.
Order enquiries are kept for up to 12 months from our last contact with you and then deleted. If you become a customer, we keep your order records for as long as we need them for the order, warranty matters and our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; ask us to restrict or object to processing; and ask for your data in a portable format. Contact us atinfo@apex-tracking.co.uk to exercise any of these. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
